project name: scp station control system of kenya geothermal project - olkaria phase iv and phase i expansion steam field facility project(sipscwinning the bid)

owner name: sinopec jiangsu oil construction engineering co., ltd.system design, equipment purchase, equipment installation, equipment debugging, software development, technical training and system maintenance

project overview:

kengen is producing electric power currently through phase i and phase ii steam generating stations of olkaria.  the power plant in phase i has three 15mw steam turbine generator sets and in phase ii has three 35mw steam turbine generator sets. the phase i and phase ii steam generating stations provide basic load for electric power supply network in kenya.

kenya steam field olkaria iv (oiv) and olkaria iau (oiau) geothermal project is a geothermal pipeline and scp station control system project undertaken by sinopec jiangsu oil construction engineering co., ltd., including industrial ethernet construction, wellhead group control, reinjection well control, vapor separation prizing station and evacuation station control. the company monitors the running status of the whole long-distance transport pipes, controls the regulating valve in each station to ensure transmission of high-temperature and high-pressure steam and geothermal brine and transmits the thermal energy continuously and safely for the geothermal power plant. all data on site is provided for olkaria ii (oii) power plant dcs. this project is divided into olkaria iv steam field and olkaria i additional units  north-east field steam field, each of which contains 20km heating power pipelines and related processing stations.

moxa industrial switch used in this project is of optical fiber communication and dual-ring redundancy to ensure system network reliability. the hydrogen sulfide contained in the geothermal steam has extremely high requirements for the control system and related equipment and facilities, so the control system adopts schneider antiseptic plc and 316 stainless steel cabinet to ensure long-term reliable system operation. this project was debugged in 2013 and was operated normally in june 2014.
